The Vallecitos School District is a small school district in northern San Diego County. The district currently offers one traditional school (Vallecitos Elementary School; K-8) and one charter school (RAI Digital Charter; 7-12). The District also offers a home education program, the RAI Classical Grammar Academy for students in grades K-6
Vallecitos Elementary School is the primary school of the Vallecitos School District. Founded in 1885, Vallecitos School serves students in grades K-8 in a traditional setting in the community of Rainbow. The school's general student population has declined over the past several years. The school population is approximately 66% of Hispanic background, 31% White (not Hispanic), 2% Asian, and 1% American Indian. Approximately 58% of the students participate in the District's free and reduced lunch program. Students in grades 9-12 who prefer a traditional site based program attend the Fallbrook High School District.
The Rainbow Advanced Institute for Learning Digital Charter School (RAI Digital Charter High) is a non-classroom based digital charter school serving students in grades K-12 in the counties of San Diego, Orange, Riverside, and Imperial.
The school district also offers the Discovery Learning Center, a preschool program for students ages 3-5, and the RAI Classical Grammar Academy for students in grades K-6 who desire a home-based educational program.
